Dr. Mark van Bijsterveld is Chief People Officer and a member of the Executive Committee at Solvay, where he leads global HR strategy and initiatives to build an engaged, high-performing, and future-ready workforce. He is a seasoned HR executive with deep expertise in talent management, organizational transformation, and creating cultures that combine performance with purpose in brand-led, sustainable companies.
Before joining Solvay, Dr. van Bijsterveld served as Chief HR Officer at Signify N.V., where he established a strong standalone HR organization, optimized the company’s operating model, and led initiatives supporting the company’s transformation toward carbon neutrality in 2020. He has also held senior HR leadership roles at Royal Philips N.V., Microsoft, and Deloitte, gaining broad experience across multinational corporations in diverse industries.
Throughout his career, he has partnered with executives and business leaders to strengthen leadership capabilities, drive organizational agility, and foster cultures of belonging and inclusion. His work focuses on aligning people strategy with business goals to deliver measurable impact on both employee engagement and societal outcomes.
