Amanda Austin

Adjunct Professor – SOUTHERN METHODIST UNIVERSITY

Amanda Austin – I hold a master’s in industrial and organizational psychology from Harvard University and bring a unique blend of practical and academic experience to this work.

I owned an improv comedy theater for 11.5 years, was in HR at IBM (formerly Dialexa, where I helped navigate our acquisition), and currently teach as an adjunct professor at SMU Cox School of Business MBA Program, where I lead the course “Innovation and Change by Design.”

I’ve also worked with numerous organizations through fractional consulting, applying these principles at both small-team and full-company scale.

My work focuses on building people-focused cultures where collaboration, innovation, and psychological safety aren’t just aspirations; they’re built into how teams operate. I’ve seen it change the lives of teams and individuals firsthand, and I want to share it with as many people as possible.
